Website Help
Website help heading underline

This page has been published to help guide you to a successful navigation experience of the Driving Phobia website.

Web Site Menu System

Example of Ride Drive website menu, showing Advanced Driving for Standard CarsYour first arrival point at this website should be the home page, unless you have clicked on a link you found on another website and that link took you to a specific topic page on this. Nevertheless, on every page you will find the same style menu system, positioned within the dark blue coloured left hand margin area and you can see an example here, on the right.

Text Hyperlinks

Looking at the graphic you will see that beneath the yellow banded title there are phrases in text and each of these are underlined. They are what is known as text hyperlinks, and if you click on any one of them (we don’t mean on this diagram though) you will be taken to another page of the website. This is how you navigate to the pages you wish to read.

To help you to understand where you are on the site there will be a red dot next to the menu item that relates to the page you are on.

Sometimes you will find hyperlinks within the main body text of the webpage, which look like this they will look like this, and when clicked upon these will behave in the same way. Of course the word, or group of words, that make up that link will give you a clue as to what subject matter you are likely to find on the page you will be taken to.

Other Forms of Navigation

Another form of navigation is the link trail displayed near the top of each page and above the page title. You can see we have reproduced this in the digram below. The link trail shows the chain of pages that you have navigated through to get to where you are. You will note the trail always starts with the Home Page, so you know that wherever you are you can always get back to the beginning. Also the link trail is repeated from the top of the page at the bottom.

Pop–Up Pages

The usual manner in which the pages behave as you browse if for the existing page to close as you open the next. However, some pages are what’s called Pop–Up pages and the page you are reading now is one of these. These behave differently, as when you open a Pop–Up page it will open over the top of your previous page.

You can tell if you have opened a Pop–Up page straight away, because if you look at your BACK button at the top left of your screen, you will see that it is greyed out and therefore inaccessible. If you close the Pop–Up page you will find the previous page is still be open beneath for your viewing.

When you encounter a Pop–Up page there are two easy ways out of it. One is to click on the << Go Back link within the page menu, or click on the ‘X’ in the top right corner of your viewing window.

Back To Top Buttons

Some pages will have a button near to the bottom, which is labelled Back To Top, and you will see one when you get to the bottom of this one. When you click on one of these it will instantly take you back to the top of the page you are viewing. This saves you scrolling all the way back up again.

As you will see, we have tried to cater for every eventuality navigation–wise. But if you ever get totally confused as to where you are, simply click on the Ride Drive logo at the top of any page and you will be taken instantly back to the Home Page, your first point of entry.

Email Link & Telephone Contact Details

Near to the bottom of every page, including this one, you will see a graphic of a telephone and a computer mouse. This graphic is a live link, and if you click upon it you should find it opens your email page from where you can write to the Ride Drive office. Obviously the telephone number within the same graphic is that of the Ride Drive office for you to use should you wish to call us.
